Tennessee-Florida game ends in wild scuffle between players
Florida downed Tennessee at The Swamp Saturday evening to extend their win streak at home against Tennessee to at least 22 years by the time Tennessee comes to town in 2025.
The rivalry matchup between the Gators and Vols came with some drama Saturday night, too. Tennessee’s Omari Thomas hit Florida QB Graham Mertz with a cheap shot at the end of the game, prompting some reaction from a few Gators players. Tennessee came to Thomas’ defense and chaos ensued:
Fight breaks out at end of Tennessee-Florida game. Vols DT Omarr Norman-Lott comes out of nowhere and throws a punch.

It really was just a bizarre situation all around. The only reason that was allowed to happen in the first place is because Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel called a timeout with 9 seconds remaining down a pair of scores.
Florida is truly an enigma right now. The Gators played their gameplan to perfection and even when Tennessee stiffened up in the 2nd half, was able to use a first half cushion to walk away with a win. The Vols looked truly dreadful in the first half.
And for Tennessee, that finish perfectly sums up the Vols’ night in Gainesville.
That was the weirdest timeout. I honestly have no idea why Coach Heupel would use a timeout at that moment. I could see a coach who was winning doing that as a way to “stick it to you”…but this didn’t really make sense to me.
Because he’s an a s s h o l e.
This was 100% Heupel’s fault in calling an absolutely unnecessary and petty timeout.
He’s a classless piece of c r a p, which makes him the perfect coach for his fanbase.
Hahaha Corch pot meet kettle
U have no idea what he was thinking
U r the as s hole
I mentioned before the game we had infuser under UTs bench releasing th smell of fresh baked Krispy Kreme’s in order to drive Heupel insane with his Bluberous cravings. It obviously worked to perfection.
Truth hilarious post but kinda mean. Funny thing is he was in good shape as a Sooners qb
I mentioned before the game that the team who came in the most tight would likely not win ….. Tennessee fit that model to a T and it only got worse until this happened with 9 seconds left.
As shameful as it would be, sometimes I kinda-sorta wish the refs would let ’em go ahead and brawl for a couple of minutes ………… our OL chewed up their DL all night to begin with!
Mertz wasn’t down when he got hit. He stayed up too long. Both teams acted poorly after that. Josh will have some explaining to do about that TO.
Correct LSUSMC….Dont run around around in the backfield if you are going to take a knee – He should have been run over for trying to be cute but instead got bumped and barely touched…..Total BS…But we should have never gotten there in the 1st place. Heupel should not have called a time out
He shouldn’t have the timeout but the QB just needs to take a couple steps back and take a knee, simple as that. He was still standing up when Lott got to him.
