Terrion Arnold offers high praise of Ladd McConkey ahead of Saturday’s showdown
Terrion Arnold shelled out high praise for Ladd McConkey as No. 8 Alabama and No. 1 Georgia prepare to face each other in this weekend’s SEC Championship Game.
During an appearance on Next Round Live, Arnold compared McConkey to some familiar wide receivers, including former Alabama standout Slade Bolden.
“He’s one of those guys, almost, I feel like, when you look at him, he kind of reminds me of like a more athletic version of a Slade Bolden,” Arnold said.
A sophomore cornerback for Alabama, Arnold said that McConkey — a redshirt junior receiver for Georgia — “kind of resembles” former NFL receiver Julian Edelman, a three-time Super Bowl champion who played for the New England Patriots from 2009-to-2020.
“So when you go down there, you’re like, pfft, ‘Look at this guy, man. You finna do this to me?’ When you go out there and you look at him, I feel like people can underestimate him on tape or things like that,” Arnold said. “But the guy is a ballplayer. Great routes. And I mean, shot player. Normally people aren’t taking shots with 5-foot-9 white guys, but I mean, he’s open. He’s open. The dude is a gamer.”
Kickoff between the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide is set for Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on CBS.
