Texas gets game-changing INT vs. Georgia thanks to controversial no-call, littering delay
Texas made a game-changing interception against Georgia late in the third quarter on Saturday night.
However, it didn’t come without plenty of controversy. Georgia was initially called for defensive pass interference on play.
But after a delay that was caused by Texas fans throwing debris onto the field in protest of that decision, officials decided to reverse the call and pick up the pass interference flag.
That decision resulted in a first down deep in Georgia territory, and Texas cashed in with a Jaydon Blue touchdown a couple plays later.
That sequence cut Georgia’s lead to 23-15 with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter.
Here’s a video of the play in question, which was ultimately ruled an interception by Texas defensive back Jahdae Barron:

Georgia held a 23-0 lead at halftime of this game following a dreadful first-half performance from Texas on offense. The Longhorns averaged just over 1 yard per play before the break, but have been much more formidable since the start of the third quarter.
Texas is 4-1 all-time against Georgia.
