Texas gets game-changing INT vs. Georgia thanks to controversial no-call, littering delay
Texas made a game-changing interception against Georgia late in the third quarter on Saturday night.
However, it didn’t come without plenty of controversy. Georgia was initially called for defensive pass interference on play.
But after a delay that was caused by Texas fans throwing debris onto the field in protest of that decision, officials decided to reverse the call and pick up the pass interference flag.
That decision resulted in a first down deep in Georgia territory, and Texas cashed in with a Jaydon Blue touchdown a couple plays later.
That sequence cut Georgia’s lead to 23-15 with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter.
Here’s a video of the play in question, which was ultimately ruled an interception by Texas defensive back Jahdae Barron:

Georgia held a 23-0 lead at halftime of this game following a dreadful first-half performance from Texas on offense. The Longhorns averaged just over 1 yard per play before the break, but have been much more formidable since the start of the third quarter.
Texas is 4-1 all-time against Georgia.
SEC refs being the embarrassment of the league once again
Targeting is ruining college football.
They were just as bad in our game (TN/AL) for both teams!!
Another one. It’s terrible.
Okay, this is all wrong: “Georgia was initially called for defensive pass interference on play.” It should be Texas was initially called for defensive pass interference on play. Obviously, it was not a “game changing” anything. Keep working on it son, you’ll be a writer one day.
All the money that this sport brings to the conference….and this is the officiating that the league gives back. Awful. Sad. Any expected response from the league?
This is a can of worms that shows if you complain loud enough, make an @ss of yourself and bully the pu$$y refs you too can get a call you don’t like overturned.
They were just as bad in our game (TN/AL) for both teams!!
Any of you shorthorns fans want to comment on this classless display? And no mustard bottles? Y’all know lots of bbq recipes call for mustard.
