The Power Rank predicts the outcome of every Week 7 SEC matchup
If you missed our weekly SDS picks, our Week 7 predictions went live Wednesday evening. In addition to those selections, we like to bring you the weekly predictions from The Power Rank as you head into your weekend.
If you are unfamiliar with The Power Rank, these numbers come via Ed Feng’s analytics system, known as The Power Rank. Feng’s metrics used have accurately predicted the winners of college football games from the 2015 season to the 2017 season 73.7 percent of the time — with an overall record of 1679-598. That number is even more impressive when you factor in that The Power Rank does not pick FBS games against FCS competition.
Last weekend, The Power Rank accurately predicted five of the seven SEC games on the schedule, as it incorrectly called for Auburn to beat Mississippi State and LSU to beat Florida.
Here is how The Power Rank predicts every Week 7 SEC game for the coming weekend:
- Texas A&M will beat South Carolina by 1.6 points on the road. The Gamecocks have a 45 percent chance of winning this game in Williams-Brice.
- Georgia will beat LSU by 10.1 points on the road. The Tigers have a 23 percent chance of upsetting the Bulldogs in Tiger Stadium.
- Alabama will beat Missouri by 21.9 points at home. The Tigers have a 7 percent chance of upsetting the Crimson Tide in Bryant-Denny.
- Ole Miss will beat Arkansas by 0.9 points on the road. The Razorbacks have a 47 percent chance of winning this matchup in Little Rock.
- Florida will beat Vanderbilt by 8 points on the road. The Commodores have a 28 percent chance of winning this game at home.
- Auburn will beat Tennessee by 18.3 points at home. The Volunteers have a 10 percent chance of winning in Jordan-Hare.
