With the weekend inching closer, it’s time to bring you the weekly SEC predictions from The Power Rank. If you missed our weekly SDS staff picks, our Week 8 predictions went live Wednesday evening.

If you are unfamiliar with The Power Rank, these numbers come via Ed Feng’s analytics system, known as The Power Rank. Feng’s metrics used have accurately predicted the winners of college football games from the 2015 season to the 2017 season 73.7 percent of the time — with an overall record of 1679-598. That number is even more impressive when you factor in that The Power Rank does not pick FBS games against FCS competition.

Last weekend, The Power Rank accurately predicted four of the six SEC games on the schedule, as it incorrectly called for Auburn to beat Tennessee and Georgia to beat LSU.

Here is how The Power Rank predicts every Week 8 SEC game for the coming weekend:

  • LSU will beat Mississippi State by 4.6 points at home. The Bulldogs have a 37 percent chance of winning this game in Tiger Stadium.
  • Missouri will beat Memphis by 5.3 points at home. Mizzou has a 35 percent chance of winning this game in Columbia.
  • Auburn will beat Ole Miss 5.1 points in Oxford. The Rebels have a 35 percent chance of winning at home.
  • Alabama will beat Tennessee by 26.1 points on the road. The Volunteers have a 4 percent chance of winning this game in Neyland Stadium.
  • Kentucky will beat Vanderbilt by 15.3 points at home. The Commodores have a 14 percent chance of winning this game at Kroger Field.
  • Arkansas will beat Tulsa by 7.6 points at home. The Razorbacks have a 70 percent chance of winning this game in Fayetteville.
