It is often said that if you have two quarterbacks, you realistically don’t have one. As for the 2016 college football season, it’s right around the corner, and yet, these six teams have yet to name their starting quarterback.

Three of which come from the Southeastern Conference (plus South Carolina making it four).

Georgia and Mississippi State aren’t among the few teams being talked about as legitimate national title contenders at this point, but, Alabama is. After all, they did win the College Football Playoff a year ago.

For the Crimson Tide, head coach Nick Saban says it’s currently a two-man race.

“We’re sort of down to two guys here,” said Saban during Monday’s press conference via montgomeryadvertiser.com. “Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett are probably the two guys we’re getting ready to play in this game and that’s the way it’s going to be for right now.”

This now marks the third straight season in which Saban hasn’t named who the clear-cut starter would be during the week of the season-opener. The Tide won’t have a cakewalk Week 1 either, getting USC on Sept. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
