Tim Brando shares 2022 college football preseason top 10
Tim Brando has dropped his preseason top 10 and, not surprisingly, it’s designed to get your attention, be it negative or positive.
Brando has Ohio State starting the season at the No. 1 spot. The Buckeyes went 11-2 last season beating Utah in the Rose Bowl and finishing No. 6 in the AP Poll and No. 5 in the Coaches Poll. Quarterback C.J. Stroud and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba are widely considered the best passer-receiver combo in the nation.
Alabama and Georgia, participants in last year’s CFP national championship game, come in at Nos. 2 and No. 3 respectively and Big XII/Sugar Bowl champion Baylor is fourth while Pac-12 champion Utah is fifth.
Here it is, my 2022 CFB Preseason TOP 10! #onbrando pic.twitter.com/udUD9W22Ke

Brando is clearly high on the squad Dave Doeren’s has built at N.C. State and the one Lincoln Riley left behind in Oklahoma. He also plugs Houston in at No. 10 to be this year’s “Group of Five program to watch”.
Share your take on this Top 10. Is it practical? Ridiculous? Maybe somewhere in between?
Bama and UGA fans in 3…2…1…
…and for once I will agree with them. OSU will put up gaudy regular season numbers and fold like origami if they make the playoffs.
This is a fraud rating. It’s not the real Brando because he doesn’t have his LSWho Corndogs in the Top 10. Investigate whoever this internet hacker is!
Typical Brando. I really can’t think of anything to that.
Jeezz. … *add to that*
Why would UGA and Bama fans care? It is nice to be considered in the top 10… really nice in the top 5. But it is all meaningless until you play the games, right? But to See Baylor and NC State there — makes me think Brando is just trying to get a little attention.
Frankly, I doubt Michigan will finish in the top 10 when its all over. And I don’t see Houston either.
This man has figured out how the internet works.
Good as guess as any at this point… OSU is going to be a good team this year as well.
How many times will the SEC have to curb stomp OSU before people stop rating them above our best teams? Bama/Georgia would beat them on their worst day.
Ohio State is .500 against the SEC in the last 10 years. 1-1 against Bama. Now if you want to go back to the last time they played Arkansas, well..
Technically, that Sugar Bowl game is an Arkansas win, since OSU forfeited due to using 5 ineligible players in the tattoo scandal that cost Jim Tressel his job and got OSU put on probation.
I was at that game…OSU got extremely lucky to win that game. And its true, the CHEATINGEST team in college football had to forfeit. (Check number of NCAA sanctions if you doubt my saying OSU is the cheatingest team in football. Its fact.)
I also was at the game. Sat in the end zone which was the OSU section surrounded by Buckeye fans. A guy a few rows in front of us started smoking a joint during the game, inside the Superdome. That didn’t last long before security showed up and escorted him out.
@Original: While Ohio St is a dirty program, in both football and basketball, SMU is still the king of football cheating, with 10 level 1 violations. I think OSU has 5 or 6. Auburn has 7, TX A&M has 8 (some are in basketball as well). Other well known cheaters include OK, OK St, Baylor, S. Cal, AZ St, FSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota.
Ohio State is for sure top 10/maybe even top 5. But not number one, unless they have found a defense since January.
Definitely top 5. I would probably have either them or UGA at 2 and the other one at 3. Not number 1 though.
All words concerning Ohio State is that they’re loaded this year. But no problema the SEC will take care of the Buckeyes in fine fashion as usual.
Houston, we have a problem.
You are not top ten.
As for ohio state its understandable that they possibility be # 1.
Is this poll to start the season or at the end of the season.
***Yawn***
Big 10+2+2 beats up on nobodies, then gets handled in the bowls.
But the media has to make everyone think the other conferences can compete with the SEC.
128 programs who have done nothing this year. They can have the top rated roster but until they actually do something there is nothing to rank. After week one there will be 64 # 1s and 64 # 2s.
I can’t stand Brando. He is about as dumb as a rock/
Argument can be made for each of the three to be number 1. Ohio State super athletic at the skill positions, Alabama and UGA more balanced with Line play. Let’s play the games.
Kentucky gets some preseason love. It may be a first
I feel like he must have some early stages of dementia. He clearly forgot a team.
At best, he has the Aggies as third in the state. It’s Brando though.
The team that Brando forgot, other than Texas A & M is Clemson and I agree with him concerning Dabo’s team. They lost the Offensive Coordinator & the best Defense Coordinator in the country in Brent Venables plus many other staffers & off the field personnel. I have a couple good friend who actually are Clemson fans and they are pretty wired-in to what’s happening there.
NC STATE????
Second ranking set I’ve seen this week with Utah in the top five. Not sure I buy that, but we’ll see in 4 weeks in Gainesville.
Yep, I love some Utah preseason hype. Top 5 even better. Hope they are also favored for that first game
Am I wrong in thinking that after Bama, UGA, and Ohio State, there are about 15 teams you could just shuffle and rank wherever? Maybe more than 15.
