Fox Sports broadcaster Tim Brando was especially impressed with the Miami Hurricanes, even though they toppled an overmatched Florida State team last week.

Brando inserted the Hurricanes at No. 4 in his updated top 10, as it was largely ACC and SEC teams, including five from the SEC. Brando made it clear that he would not include teams until they play, so that explains any Big Ten or Pac-12 or other teams that have rescheduled their seasons but not kicked off yet.

Brando predicted in a Mad Dog Sports Radio segment with Linda Cohn that the SEC champion would have two losses this year. Brando said the conference has done a good job of protecting its best teams through scheduling. But this year, with the conference-only format, the format of having weeks off before a big game, typically a rival, has largely gone away.

“That could enable like a Big 12 team that has one loss, or dare I say, a team out of the Pac-12 that doesn’t start until November, that runs the table, that could be 7-0 like an Oregon to be in the conversation,” Brando said. “It’s going to be an incredible year.”
