Timothée Chalamet may not appear to be a guy who knows much about college football. The famous French-American actor was seemingly a strange choice as the College GameDay guest picker on Saturday morning in Atlanta ahead of the SEC Championship Game.

However, Chalamet impressed during his appearance, showing a knowledge of college football, even Group of 5 conferences like the MAC.

Chalamet, who played Texas superfan Matthew McConaughey’s son in Interstellar back in 2014, picked the Longhorns to beat Georgia in the SEC title game on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s just one look at some of the college football knowledge Chalamet was dropping on ESPN on Saturday morning:

Naturally, fans were impressed with that level of knowledge from the Academy Award-nominated actor. Here’s a sampling of some of the social media reaction to Chalamet’s guest picks segment:

Chalamet is gunning for a perfect 6-0 picks record. Based on the knowledge he showed during his guest picks segment, we wouldn’t doubt him!

We’ll see if he’s proven right as the exciting Saturday slate of conference title games gets underway. One thing is for sure, though — ESPN should absolutely consider Chalamet for a guest picker segment again at some point down the road. Fans would seemingly agree.
