Tom Hart won’t be on the call for Wednesday night’s showdown between Alabama and LSU in Tuscaloosa. Karl Ravech and Jimmy Dykes are slated to call that game, which tips off at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN2.

But Hart, who will be in Auburn to call the game between Georgia and the No. 2 Tigers with Pat Bradley, still took time to weigh in on the big game between LSU and Alabama.

During an appearance on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX on Wednesday, Hart said LSU PG Xavier Pinson’s health will be the biggest key to the game:

“The key, for me, will be LSU’s point guard, Xavier Pinson,” Hart said. “He’s missed the last couple of games. Will Wade told us last week that he should be back, it should only be a 2-game absence. Without him, they have proven to be lost on the offensive end. Now, LSU’s good enough defensively and they’re so aggressive playing the passing lanes that they’ll turn you over. That, in turn, gives them easy buckets. It’s pretty elementary in that regard. But, when they have to run their offense in the half court, without Pinson, they have a hard time scoring. I think they only have 2 points in the last 5 minutes of their game on Saturday and got outscored 19-2 down the stretch. That can’t happen.”

Who will win this important SEC matchup? Both of these teams need a win to stay within striking distance of Auburn atop the SEC standings.
