Tom Hart of ESPN made his regular Wednesday appearance on WJOX and the “McElroy and Cubelic In the morning” show to discuss rivalry week around the SEC.

Hart pointed to the Egg Bowl as the most intriguing matchup of rivalry week, and explained why.

“I’m fascinated by everything that’s happening there, the quarterback play is in Mississippi State’s favor,” he said. “I’m anxious to see what Ole Miss held back for this game because they obviously were not firing on all cylinders Saturday night. My guess is they probably put some Egg Bowl prep in, prior to Vandy. … My guess is they were getting ready for that game because they have a short week, and Corral’s probably going to run more because he can, and he’s healthier, and Mike Leach is getting ready to air it out.”

Hart noted that Ole Miss’ defense has played well the last couple weeks. Hart also described the Egg Bowl rivalry as vile, and got ugly a couple years ago, which is OK, but he added that it’s still fun for college football.

“That one’s No. 1 on my list,” Hart said.
