Tom Herman appears irate with USF coach Alex Golesh for unsatisfactory postgame handshake
A few coaches with past SEC ties had a bit of a moment after USF’s win over Florida Atlantic Friday night.
Alex Golesh, who served as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator during the Vols’ exciting 2022 season, brushed right past FAU coach Tom Herman following the game, giving him more of a firm low five than a handshake. It didn’t look like Golesh said anything, but Herman obviously took exception to the move.
The former Texas head coach followed Golesh and yelled a few words at him before walking away:

As you can read above, Herman and Golesh are not the biggest fans of each other. FAU called an onside kick while up big last season against the Bulls, so Golesh returned the favor by going for 2 up 3 touchdowns Friday night. The Bulls came out of last night with a 44-21 win.
Here are Golesh’s comments regarding the matter from the postgame press conference. The USF coach said that he told Herman last year the Bulls would be back after what he felt was a disrespectful move in 2023:

USF is now 4-4 on the season while FAU fell to 2-6.
