Editor’s note: Recruiting rankings are in reference to the 247sports industry composite

National Signing Day 2016 may seem a long way off, but recruiting is already in full swing for SEC coaches as they battle for the top talent from around the nation.

The NCAA is currently in the midst of an evaluation period, when recruiters can go out to high school campuses to check out prospective recruits. It’s also a period where electronic and paper communication is allowed, while plenty of scholarship offers will go out in the coming weeks.

With offers going out and commitments coming in, it seems like a good time to take a look at the top-rated early commits around the SEC so far.

Looking at the top 10 gives a good sense of why Georgia and LSU both sit high in team rankings. Both schools have three of the SEC’s top-10 committed players, with Georgia stocking up on offensive line talent and LSU scoring commitments in the form of elite cornerback and defensive tackle talent. Both schools, along with Ole Miss, hope they’ve found their quarterback of the future with their early commitments as well.
