Continuing our daily look at top recruits in each of the 10 SEC states, the next stop is Florida. Texas folk may call foul but in the world of college football recruiting no state currently shines brighter than Florida. Everyone wants to piece of the talent coming through the sunshine state but no one can claim ownership. There’s plenty of prospects to go around and a ton of schools interested in grabbing them.

Based on 247Sports’ 2016 composite rankings by state, here are Florida’s 10 best prospects and where they’re headed (comments where necessary):

(Writer’s note: QB Shea Patterson and TE Isaac Nauta both play at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., but will be grouped with their respective home states of Louisiana and Georgia.)

1. Nick Bosa, DE, 6-4, 260, Fort Lauderdale (five star, committed to Ohio State): His brother is Buckeyes star defensive end Joey Bosa.

2. Saivion Smith, CB, 6-1, 170, St. Petersburg (five star, committed to LSU)

3. Trayvon Mullen, CB, 6-1, 170, Pompano Beach (four star, uncommitted): It appears to be an LSU-Florida State battle for Mullen. He took an official visit to Louisville before the dead period so the Cardinals may be in play, but LSU gets his final official on the last weekend of January.

4. Nate Craig-Myers, WR, 6-2, 200, Tampa (four star, uncommitted): Craig-Myers was committed to Auburn at one time and a heavy Florida lean at another. He’s still interested in the Tigers and Gators, but FSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame and a couple other schools are out there as well.

5. Feleipe Franks, Pro style QB, 6-6, 220, Crawfordville (four star, committed to Florida): Franks will enroll at Florida in early January.

6. Baveon Johnson, OL/Center, 6-4, 325, Lakeland (four star, committed to FSU): Johnson may take an official visit to Alabama with teammate, four-star defensive tackle Keyshon Camp, but he is very solid to FSU.

7. Shavar Manuel, DT, 6-4, 290, Tampa (four star, uncommitted): A rough season at IMG Academy has left Manuel’s recruitment with more questions than answers. Florida, LSU and FSU are all in the picture but none is as high on Manuel as it was a year ago. Miami and USF could make a late push.

8. Sam Bruce, WR, 5-8, 183, Fort Lauderdale (four star, committed to Miami): Bruce says the chatter of him flipping to Florida is just “internet talk” but we’ll see after he takes his official visits to South Carolina, Florida and Miami in January.

9. Janarius Robinson, DE, 6-5, 260, Panama City (four star, committed to FSU): Robinson flirted with the Gators but announced he will enroll at FSU in January.

10. Chauncey Gardner, CB, 6-0, 187, Cocoa (four star, committed to Florida): Gardner has been committed to the Gators since March and will enroll in January.
