Continuing our daily look at top recruits in each of the 10 SEC states, the next stop is Louisiana. The word on Louisiana has always been where the big kids are. The biggest linemen, the most physical cornerbacks and safeties, the biggest, most physical receivers. This year is no different.

Based on 247Sports’ 2016 composite rankings by state, here are Louisiana’s 10 best prospects and where they’re headed (comments where necessary):

1. Shea Patterson, QB, 6-2, 202, Shreveport (five stars, committed to Ole Miss): Patterson has been committed to the Rebels for nearly a year and has helped their effort to secure a top class.

2. Rashard Lawrence, DT, 6-3, 305, Monroe (five stars, uncommitted): LSU, Alabama and Ohio State are in the picture for the blue-chip interior lineman. The Buckeyes received an official visit in October and continue to push the SEC programs. Lawrence may be done with official visits and wants to make a decision before national signing day.

3. Edwin Alexander, DT, 6-2, 310, Hammond (four stars, committed to LSU)

4. Kristian Fulton, CB, 6-0, 180, Matairie (four stars, uncommitted): LSU has the beat on any elite defensive back prospect in Louisiana, but Arkansas has made Fulton a priority and kept the relationship strong enough to get an official visit in January. Florida and Texas A&M have remained in the picture as well. Alabama extending an offer on Christmas Eve may further complicates things for Fulton.

5. Shyheim Carter, CB, 6-0, 190, Kentwood (four stars, uncommitted): Once committed to Alabama, Carter could be heading back to Tuscaloosa if his relationship with defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is as close as advertised. Ole Miss and Baylor are also schools to keep an on as well as the aforementioned Bulldogs.

6. Michael Divinity, OLB, 6-2, 220, Marrero (four stars, uncommitted): Divinity was committed to LSU once and by most accounts he’ll be part of the Tigers class again when he makes his final announcement between LSU and Texas A&M at the Under Armour All-America Game.

7. Willie Allen, OT, 6-7, 310, New Orleans (four stars, uncommitted): This appears to be a four-team race between LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss and Auburn. LSU might have a slight edge, but Auburn is going to get an official visit in January and will push hard for the talented tackle.

8. Devin White, ATH, 6-1, 245, Springhill (four stars, uncommitted): This looks like an Arkansas-LSU battle, but White is looking at Alabama, FSU and Ole Miss as well. He has a Jan. 8 decision date planned and an early enrollment to follow.

9. Stephen Sullivan, WR, 6-5, 225, Donaldsonville (four stars, uncommitted): Sullivan will decide on Dec. 26 between TCU, LSU and Mississippi State.

10. Donavaughn Campbell, OG, 6-4, 340, Ponchatoula (four stars, committed to LSU).
