Here is a look at some of the SEC’s top performing position units in Week 4:

QUARTERBACKS — Texas A&M: Though Arkansas held the ball for nearly 40 minutes in Saturday night’s game, the Aggies quarterbacks were able to get enough work done in the little time that they held the ball to both earn the victory and earn the top spot in the league for this position group. Starter Kyle Allen led the league with 358 yards on 21 of 28 passing, including two touchdown connections with freshman WR Christian Kirk. Backup QB Kyler Murray came off the bench to add some rushing elements to the position, running five times for 27 yards in the 28-21 win against the Razorbacks.

RUNNING BACKS LSU: This group continues to get it done for the Tigers. It all starts with Leonard Fournette, obviously, and he had another huge game in Week 4 against Syracuse. The sophomore standout ran for 244 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, which was the second-highest individual total in the FBS for the week. There was a clear argument to be made for the performance from Nick Chubb and Sony Michel as a duo for Georgia, but the competition (Southern) just wasn’t good enough to warrant the nod instead of LSU.

WIDE RECEIVERSTexas A&M: Freshman wideout Christian Kirk may be the most explosive player in the league, and his abilities were on full display on Saturday night against Arkansas. He caught eight passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns. But he’s not the only Aggies receiver that impressed, with junior Josh Reynolds also enjoying a productive evening with 106 yards receiving, including a crucial 63-yard reception to set up the game-tying score late in the fourth quarter.

OFFENSIVE LINEGeorgiaWe seem to give all of the credit to the running backs on this team, but week after week they have holes to run through thanks to a quality offensive line. Though the competition was weak in Week 4, the Bulldogs line continued its work, paving the way for four different running backs to combine for 261 yards, while allowing just one sack all afternoon in the passing game.

DEFENSIVE LINE Alabama: The Crimson Tide defense suffocated its Sun Belt foe, and it all started up front. Louisian Monroe managed just nine yards rushing on 31 attempts, and just 92 yards of total offense on 71 plays. DE Jarran Reed finished second on the team with five total tackles, including a sack, two tackles for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry.

LINEBACKERSSouth Carolina: The Gamecocks needed a strong performance from their defense in the worst way, and the linebackers answered that call on Saturday during a 31-14 win against UCF. MLB T.J. Holloman had himself a big day, making six tackles (one for loss) and intercepting two passes. WLB Skai Moore had seven solo tackles, two assisted tackles and two pass breakups. As a defensive unit, the Gamecocks limited UCF to just 26 yards rushing on 23 attempts, which is a stark improvement from the 246 yards and four touchdowns South Carolina allowed on the ground to Georgia in Week 3.

DEFENSIVE BACKSMississippi State: The Bulldogs went on the road to Jordan-Hare Stadium and did not allow a touchdown on their way to a win against Auburn, and one of their defensive units deserves some recognition for that. We’ll highlight the defensive backs, who did not allow much in the way of big plays, with the longest pass play of the day totaling 22 yards. SS Kendrick Market finished second on the team with eight total tackles. CB Will Redmond had the game’s only interception to go along with four tackles, and FS Kivon Coman had six tackles and a tackle for loss.
