The annual Egg and Iron Bowls will take place two weeks from Saturday, but this year’s games have added meaning as all four teams currently find themselves ranked within the College Football Playoffs committee’s Top 10 schools. With Auburn set to face Georgia and undefeated Mississippi State taking on Alabama this weekend, playoff implications for each team will be on the line leading up to both bowl games on November 29. Secondary ticket prices remain exceptionally high for this Saturday’s games as well as the season winds down.

According to TiqIQ, the average price for Georgia vs Auburn tickets this Saturday is $274.36 and get-in price starts at $125 on the secondary market. While Georgia is the odd-man out in the forthcoming Egg and Iron Bowls, a win against 7-2 Auburn would significantly diminish the Tigers’ postseason hopes and make them further drop from their current No. 9 ranking by the CFP committee. Auburn will play Alabama in the Iron Bowl at the end of the month, where the Crimson Tide currently sit at 8-1 and own the No. 5 spot in the CFP rankings.

On the reserve ticket market for the College Football Playoffs from TeamTix, Alabama still remains the most expensive SEC school with a low reserve price of $85, with Auburn dropping to a low price of just $9.

Alabama will host Mississippi State this Saturday, where average secondary price is currently listed at $247.50 and get-in price starts at $137.50. Mississippi State has proved to be a formidable opponent all season long and heads to Bryant-Denny Stadium with a flawless 9-0 record. Sitting atop the CFP rankings, the Bulldogs face crosstown rivals Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl on the 29th, which serves as the tenth longest sports series in the United States.

The Egg Bowl will decipher a champion in the state of Mississippi but will more importantly propel one team closer towards the National Championship Game, a matchup neither has entered since Ole Miss last won in 1962. Mississippi State’s undefeated season has warranted plenty of hype around the team and Egg Bowl tickets will likely reach exorbitant prices on the secondary market if they remain perfect through the end of the month.

Alongside the Egg Bowl, Auburn and Alabama’s annual bout in the Iron Bowl owns a considerable amount of history. Last season’s game-winning touchdown return following a missed field goal led Auburn to the biggest upset of the college football season in 2013, though Alabama would ultimately go on to face Florida State in the BCS National Championship Game. Alabama leads with an all-time record of 42-35-1 in the seasonal showdown.

While both the Egg and Iron Bowls elicit an enormous amount of excitement within the SEC, all four participating teams will face strict competition in the weeks leading up to the bowl games. Auburn will have its hands full with Georgia this Saturday, whose identical 7-2 record has proven to be a force in the East division.  Alabama will square off with Mississippi State in arguably the most anticipated game of the week as the Bulldogs hope to remain unbeaten following their departure from Tuscaloosa.

With the postseason just several weeks away, college football has seen a plethora of big talent in the SEC. As several of the conference’s team fall within the CFP Top 10, it is likely that its forthcoming bowls and their tickets will be in high demand on the secondary market.
