UGA AD Greg McGarity says moving Georgia-Florida game is 'impractical'
As ideas for rescheduling the Florida-LSU game that was suspended due to Hurricane Matthew continue to circulate, one involves pushing the annual meeting between Georgia and Florida up one week.
If the rivalry game, which is scheduled to be played on Oct. 29, is pushed forward to Oct. 22, it would allow LSU and Florida to play without having to buy out any other scheduled opponents. While that potential solution has been mentioned, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity told Paul Finebaum on Monday that the idea is “impractical.”

With the Georgia-Florida game quickly approaching, the timetable for that potential solution is diminishing. The SEC has said LSU and Florida need to reschedule their matchup, but it remains a situation that is up in the air.
