The new Associated Press college basketball poll is out following a big week of action on the hardwood and there is a new No. 1 team in the nation as Duke has fallen from the top spot after losing to North Carolina.

Gonzaga has risen to No. 1 with No. 2 Virginia, No. 3 Duke, No. 4 Kentucky and No. 5 North Carolina sitting atop the latest AP poll. The Wildcats ranking will be tested this week as Kentucky is scheduled to host Arkansas and travel to Tennessee.

The Vols, coming off an overtime loss at LSU, travel to Ole Miss before hosting the Wildcats. LSU hosts Texas A&M and travels to Alabama this week.

Those three are the only ranked teams from the SEC this week but two others are in the “receiving votes category” in the new AP poll:

#4 Kentucky (no movement)

#7 Tennessee (down 2 spots)

#13 LSU (no movement)

Others receiving votes:

Mississippi St. 28, Auburn 16
