A bad game against Jacksonville State sent War Eagle from No. 6 down to No. 18 in the Associated Press Poll and virtually out of everyone’s mind to make the playoff, let alone the SEC title game. Auburn is out to crush those knee-jerk notions this week against No. 13 LSU (2-0).

Yes, it’s lost seven straight in Death Valley. Yes, Jeremy Johnson has looked bad. Yes, LSU has the freight train known as Leonard Fournette. However, Auburn still has playmakers on offense and the defense is expected to get two of its top players — DE/Buck Carl Lawson and S Tray Matthews — back from injury. Nonetheless, the main reason LSU is on upset alert is not from having confidence in Jeremy Johnson leading Auburn to victory. It’s due to a lack of confidence in Brandon Harris doing the same.
