Urban Meyer spent over three decades in college coaching, including head coaching stops at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State. Meyer’s times in Gainesville and Columbus are particularly special for the coach as he won 3 national championship rings coaching the Gators and Buckeyes.

Meyer may have disappointed some of his Ohio bar customers on Saturday when he named Gainesville his favorite college town during FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff.”

“I’m very biased,” Meyer said, “and I’m going to go early September, late August in Gainesville, Florida (with that) 110 heat index.”

Meyer’s colleagues, however, didn’t go with homer answers.

Former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn went with an SEC town.

“Oxford, Mississippi … little Hotty Toddy and check out the Grove,” Quinn said.

Former USC quarterback Matt Leinart named a town he hasn’t actually visited, but he has apparently heard great things.

“I’m going with Madison, Wisconsin,” Leinart said. “I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard the stories.”
