On Saturday, Dec. 23, the USF Bulls will take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Birmingham Bowl.
Even though the Bulls finished 9-2 this season, there’s not much excitement among the USF fan base for the game, as the school has sold an embarrassingly low number of tickets.
According to reporter Joey Knight, USF has only sold 1,059 of its 10,000-ticket allotment for the game, with a sizable portion being returned back to the bowl:
#USF announces it has sold 1,059 of its 10,000 allotted @Birmingham_Bowl tickets (school sold 1,648 last year). More than 4,500 of this year's tix have been donated back to bowl (for charity groups). Another 300 distributed to veterans.

Obviously, a bowl game two days before Christmas is a tough sell, as many will want to spend the holidays with their families.
Still, that’s a low number of tickets to sell, as the game isn’t that far away. How many tickets Texas Tech sold is unknown at this time, but it’s probably safe to say there won’t be many USF fans in the stands on Dec. 23.
