LSU is home to one of the most exciting players in college football. The Baton Rouge campus may also have one of college basketball’s best players.

Ben Simmons is widely considered college basketball’s top freshman. The 6-foot-10 forward from Melbourne, Australia could be the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Last year, as a senior at Montverde Academy in Florida, Simmons averaged 28 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. He shot 70.7 percent from the field, and recorded 24 double-doubles in 29 games.

Simmons was a guest on the Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday afternoon. He says he’s enjoyed his time at LSU so far.

Since arriving in Baton Rouge, Simmons has gotten to know Heisman contender Leonard Fournette. He says Fournette, the Tigers’ star running back, “is an animal on the field.”
