A great joy turned into the last thing anyone wants to hear Friday in Northwest Miami: gunshots.

The noise interrupted a game between Carol City and Miami Central High School, forcing players and coaches on both teams to sprint to the locker room.

According to a report from 7News in Miami, five people were taken into custody. Luckily, no one was hurt due to the shots.

The news station reported that one public school high school student got killed in the area earlier this week and another private school student was shot.

Our thoughts are with the residents of Northwest Miami. Hopefully the violence declines and the residents there can return to watching football games in peace.
