Kickers aren’t usually known for their tackling prowess, but one high schooler in Ohio did his part Friday night to change that narrative.

Lima Senior kicker Cole Mericle not only made a kick with three seconds left to give his team a lead, he saved the victory on the ensuing kickoff, according to LimaOhio.com.

After five laterals, it appeared Toledo St. Francis de Sales may have a clear path to the end zone. Then Mericle closed the gap and preserved a one-point victory.
