SEC Network analyst Greg McElroy knows a thing or two about playing quarterback in the SEC.

He helped lead Alabama to the 2010 BCS National Championship (2009 season) win over Texas. Now, McElroy can be seen on the SEC Network and other ESPN platforms discussing all things college football.

Recently, McElroy joined Marcus Spears on their show Thinking Out Loud, and McElroy ranked the SEC’s top five signal callers for 2019.

The most interesting of the five was Kelly Bryant at No. 3.

“I like Kelly Bryant at No. 3,” McElroy said. “I really like him. I went back and watched him closely and everyone seemed to create this narrative that ‘Kelly Bryant can’t throw — can’t throw deep.’ It’s not really true. He can do those things. He does them really well; he just doesn’t do them as well as Trevor Lawrence.”

Below are McElroy’s top five rankings:

1. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
2. Jake Fromm, Georgia
3. Kelly Bryant, Missouri
4. Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
5. Joe Burrow, LSU
