UCF came about as close as you can possibly come to pulling off an upset of No. 1 seed Duke on Sunday night, with a final attempt at a tip-in rimming out as time expired.
After the game, UCF players — including Aubrey Dawkins, the son of coach Johnny Dawkins — were understandably inconsolable.
However, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has close ties to the Dawkins family, as Johnny used to star for Duke. After the game, the legendary coach was spotted doing his best to console the Knights:

Coach K is often surly after losses, so we won’t heap too much praise on him here, but this was a nice gesture toward a team that gave its all and nearly pulled off the major upset.
Duke survives and advances to the Sweet 16, but all of a sudden, the Blue Devils seem a lot more beatable.
