WATCH: XFL bashes NFL’s catch rule in latest promotional video

Last week, Vince McMahon announced he was bringing back the XFL, a league he started back in 2001 that lasted exactly one season.

However, as he and the league plan for a 2020 relaunch, they’re wasting no time taking shots at the NFL, and did it again just ahead of Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

As you can see in the video below, shared by @XFL2020 on Twitter, the XFL made fun of the NFL’s confusing catch rule in the latest promotion:

Indeed, the NFL’s catch rule has been the subject of much criticism in recent years, as no one is quite sure what constitutes a catch.

This video promises that “in the XFL, a catch is a catch,” but doesn’t go into much detail other than that.

We’ll have to wait and see if the XFL can provide some clarity on what a catch actually is, but it won’t be hard to top the NFL in that regard.
