Week 2 SEC opening lines released
Thanks to the long Labor Day Weekend, which extends until Monday, the full slate of SEC games isn’t even over yet. Despite that fact, the opening Week 2 lines have been released Sunday.
While the opening weekend of the SEC season featured some tremendous games full of intriguing matchups, outside of a few games, the same can’t be said for the second weekend of the 2017 season.
TCU’s trip to Arkansas is underrated considering the epic game those two played last season, South Carolina and Missouri may blow up the scoreboard at Faurot Field, Georgia makes its first trip to Notre Dame and Auburn faces its first real test of the season taking on the defending national champions in the ACC’s version of Death Valley.
The following games do not feature an opening line: Eastern Kentucky at Kentucky, UT Martin at Ole Miss, Indiana State at Tennessee, Alabama A&M at Vanderbilt, Nicholls at Texas A&M, Chatanooga at LSU and Northern Colorado at Florida.

Note: Georgia at Notre Dame game does not have a line at this time; likely due to the unknown status of QB Jacob Eason
Missouri is favored over South Carolina? How in the world is that possible.
Home field advantage I guess. That’s going to be interesting
I think I would take SC and the points.
Same here
Agree.
All day
USC will score 70
They could both score 70.
Lot’s of factors here. Early in year. home vs away. Changes in roster and coaching staff. NCState vs SWMoState. Total points scored + total points allowed + spread in week one. Health of roster week 1 vs week 2. Speed. Skill. Depth. Coaching O + D + STs.. It’s week two, the winner will probably be the team that prepares best this early in the year.
NC State vs Missouri state? You can’t be serious.
It’s wolfman. He is.
Who has these opening lines? Mississippi State -6 and USC +4.5 are basically arbitrage opportunities
Looks like the money is starting to pour in on the Carolina side
Play it cool Ags. We just need to be tied 10-10 at halftime against an inferior opponent like Ole Mi$$ vs South Alabama, and we’ll win. No big leads, no meltdowns here. haha
Dude, come back to earth. The Ags lost a 34 point lead. In a game where the odds, at one point became 99.9% chance of winning (when the score was 44-10), they lost. I think it’s safe to say you don’t know your own team. They’ve only played one game and that one game became Exhibit A on How to Lose Control 101.
” (when the score was 44-10), they lost.”
Kevin Sumlin, John Chavis, is that you?
Is that all you took away from my point?
Texas A&M defense, is that you?
Blame the players and not the scheme? John Chavis, is that you?
Defensively speaking, yes, most of the time, blame the players. The coaches scheme works perfectly in his head but it’s up to the players to do it right. Don’t completely pardon the Defensive Captain either. He is paramount to a defense’s scheme. Also, I love how you grab Ole Miss’ half-time score by the ankle to help you through your loss. It just doesn’t work that way. Desperation is a stinky cologne.
