Every fall, cities across the southeast go mad for football, and the SEC produces some of the most ravenous fanbases every year.

However, the folks over at WalletHub apparently don’t see it that way, as only three SEC cities ranked in the top 50 for “best cities for college football fans” in their latest rankings.

As you can see in the rankings, Clemson is No. 1, followed by Tuscaloosa at No. 2. Here’s where the other 13 SEC cities rank:

  • No. 2 — Tuscaloosa, Alabama
  • No. 9 — Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • No. 15 — Starkville, Mississippi
  • No. 60 — Athens, Georgia
  • No. 61 — Oxford, Mississippi
  • No. 65 — Auburn, Alabama
  • No. 80 — Nashville, Tennessee
  • No. 114 — Gainesville, Florida
  • No. 124 — College Station, Texas
  • No. 144 — Columbia, Missouri
  • No. 185 — Lexington, Kentucky
  • No. 196 — Fayetteville, Arkansas
  • No. 211 — Knoxville, Tennessee
  • No. 219 — Columbia, South Carolina

You can see WalletHub’s methodology here, but it doesn’t make it any less confusing as to why these SEC cities are ranked the way they are.
