One of the biggest mysteries leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft will be the destination of reigning Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray.

If the former Oklahoma quarterback was a few inches taller and perhaps built a bit more sturdy, he would be a lock to be selected at the top of the draft board but considering he is expected to measure in around 5-foot-10 at the NFL Combine, some franchises may balk at the thought of drafting a signal caller of that stature. That may be an old-school mentality but one that still applies to a number of teams in the NFL.

Despite some questioning his size, the former Sooner passed for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns with only seven interceptions and rushed for another 1,001 yards and 12 scores last season for Oklahoma. Should he impress during the pre-draft period, it’s very likely Murray will be selected in round one.

Which team appears to be the most interested in Murray? According to NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, one team continues to come up when discussing the Heisman Trophy winner.

“The name that comes up, just talking to buddies around the league, over and over again is Jacksonville. And I think that one does make sense,” Jeremiah said during a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show. “In terms of getting healthy on the offensive line. The defense I think will bounce back. They can run the ball. Play action, which gives you a deeper pocket, we said that about Russell Wilson when he was coming out. Having a run-heavy team is going to allow you play action which is set deeper in the pocket. You can be really clear back there and then you can have someone that can generate four or five explosive plays.”

Should Jacksonville’s defense and running game return to form, the selection makes a good deal of sense to the NFL draft analyst.

“That’s a team that keeps popping up over and over again and I think that one does make a lot of sense,” Jeremiah added.

Jacksonville owns the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and is expected to move on from quarterback Blake Bortles this offseason after benching him last season.
