Brock Glenn, a true freshman, could be the latest change at quarterback for Florida State after Mike Norvell said that Tate Rodemaker is going to be a game-day decision for the ACC Championship.

Rodemaker was injured late in the Florida game and was replaced by Glenn for a few plays before returning. Glenn threw 1 pass that fell incomplete, but could have to do more than that if Rodemaker can’t go vs. Louisville on Saturday.

With a College Football Playoff spot on the line this Saturday, Glenn could be thrust into his 1st ever start for the Seminoles against Louisville.

Here are 3 things to know about Glenn in case the opportunity arises:

He’s seen the field before this season, but not much

Glenn first saw action in FSU’s win over Southern Miss and later stepped in during the North Alabama game once the outcome was no longer in doubt.

Glenn scored his 1st career touchdown in the win over North Alabama, which resulted in Travis congratulating Glenn from the hospital after the big milestone.

On the season, Glenn has completed 2-of-4 passes for 35 yards. He’s also rushed for 37 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 carries. The young Florida State quarterback could move all the way to the starting role on Saturday if Rodemaker isn’t able to play.

Glenn’s traits stood out to Mike Norvell

Mike Norvell praised Glenn for the ability to receive coaching earlier in the season. Glenn was not expected to be play this year and Norvell was looking ahead to 2024.

Being coachable is a good quality to have, but Norvell was really impressed by the traits Glenn possesses. Norvell also called Glenn a hard worker and believed the Florida State QB took the next step because of it.

Here’s what Norvell had to say back in August about the type of QB Glenn is:

“I love the way that he takes coaching,” Norvell said. “It’s a constant challenge to himself. He is looking to all things that he can get to be better. And if he makes a mistake, you usually don’t see him make it again. That is a great trait for a young man.

“He’s got talent, he’s got ability. But you’re really seeing him take another step in his game here early in his career because of the way that he’s working.”

Recruiting background

There were a lot of schools competing for Glenn in the class of 2023.

Glenn originally committed to Ohio State last July. However, Florida State convinced Glenn to flip to the Seminoles later that November. He took an unofficial visit shortly after and the rest is history.

247Sports rated Glenn as a 3-star QB out of Covington (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate School. The 247Sports Composite listed Glenn as the No. 30 QB and No. 12 in the state for his class.

From the time he committed to Norvell to now, everything has been leading up to this. Glenn is just a freshman and might have to suit up for Florida State in the biggest game of his career so far.

Kickoff from Charlotte is set for 8 p.m. ET on ABC in what could be Glenn’s 1st start in a Seminoles uniform.
