Oklahoma’s defense was supposed to be better this year. Remember when that was a popular preseason narrative?
Well, that hasn’t come to pass this year, as the Sooners’ defense has looked lost at times. That was certainly the case during the Red River Rivalry game against Texas in Dallas on Saturday afternoon.
With the score tied at 41-all in the fourth quarter in Dallas, it’s safe to say there hasn’t been a lot of defense played. Fans were quick to flock to Twitter to call out both schools for lackluster efforts on that side of the ball:
Oklahoma & Texas don’t believe in defense at all ?

Texas 41, Oklahoma 30. To the fourth we go.
830 combined offensive yards. (422 for Oklahoma, 408 for Texas)
Something to watch: OU has run 58 offensive plays to Texas' 45. Even though Texas has led all day, its defense has been on the field more (TOP: OU-26:02; UT-18:58)

So apparently Oklahoma and Texas believe playing no defense will serve them well in the SEC… pic.twitter.com/zCr4A9VSzC

Texas and Oklahoma. Where is y'all defense…

Do they believe in playing defense at Texas and Oklahoma?

I swear everytime we blink or change the channel between Ole Miss/Arkansas & Texas/Oklahoma, we miss a TD. Anyone want to play defense anymore? pic.twitter.com/AE6zvqmicE

There’s still a long way to go in Dallas. Oklahoma scored midway through the fourth to take a 48-41 lead. Can the Sooners make a stop? Or will the scoreboard continue to spin?
