Will Vols’ fumble issues catch up to them against Texas A&M?

Every coaching staff around the country preaches ball security. But one can assume that Butch Jones and his assistants will be giving the issue extra attention this week.
While Tennessee has successfully overcome the issue through Week 5, the Volunteers have a bit of a fumbling problem. UT has fumbled 15 times, the most of any SEC team. Luckily for the Vols, only three fumbles have been lost. By the numbers, while Tennessee has the most fumbles on the season, it’s also posted the lowest percentage of fumbles lost among conference teams.
This Saturday, however, might not be the time to push that luck any further.
Texas A&M has forced 21 fumbles since the start of last season(tied for 4th-most in Power 5).

While Cubelic chose to focus on the two-year number for Texas A&M, the 2016 number of five forced fumbles is impressive for only five weeks into the season. Aggies’ opponents have fumbled 11 times this season, and TAMU has recovered five of those fumbles (45.5 percent).
It certainly looks like one can expect to see the ball on the ground at some point Saturday.
