Yahoo Sports reveals updated preseason Top 25 for fall season with 8 SEC teams

An atypical college football season comes with atypical rankings. While the Associated Press will still include Big Ten and Pac-12 teams in 2020 preseason rankings (but not in-season rankings), other publications are updating their preseason polls to reflect only the teams slated to play this fall and not in the winter or spring.

Yahoo Sports became the latest publication to update its preseason rankings. While Clemson remains the website’s preseason No. 1, previous preseason No. 2 Ohio State was dropped along with the other teams: Oregon (7), Penn State (9), USC (14), Wisconsin (15), Michigan (16) and Minnesota (21).

The updated rankings feature 8 SEC teams in the Top 25, they are:

• No. 2 Alabama
• No. 3 Georgia
• No. 5 LSU
• No. 6 Florida
• No. 9 Texas A&M
• No. 11 Auburn
• No. 18 Kentucky
• No. 19 Tennessee
