Youth football coach banned for life after striking member of his 9-and-under team multiple times
It takes a lot to be banned for life but this coach certainly deserves the punishment based on the video clip that went viral this week.
According to a report from Yahoo Sports, the youth coach caught on video striking a member of his 9-and-under team is Gerrel Williams of Savannah, Ga.
In the video below, Williams can be seen striking one of his young players multiple times during a game that took place during the opening round of the American Youth Football (AYF) national championships in Kissimmee, Fla.
For what it’s worth, the mother of the player that was struck has decided against charging the coach for assault.
In addition to receiving a lifetime ban from coaching, Williams also lost his job as a counselor in the Chatham County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office detention center after this video went viral.

Someone shared this with me. It was on their Facebook page. Supposedly happened in Florida during some championships during the past week. Anyone know disposition? Should’ve been arrested . . . . . Absolutely, totally uncalled for. We have to rid sports of “coaches” like this. pic.twitter.com/X57VMr7Rfe
