South Carolina faced Vanderbilt at home after narrowly avoiding the upset to Jacksonville State in Week 10.

The road to a bowl game for South Carolina continued Saturday as the Gamecocks will need to win out in order to reach the postseason.

South Carolina had a 14-game winning streak against Commodores looking to play spoiler already out of bowl contention.

A huge winning streak was either going to be continued or broken on Saturday. The winning streak continued as South Carolina earned its 15th straight win over Vanderbilt.

The Gamecocks beat the Commodores 47-6.

A tale of two offenses

South Carolina and Vanderbilt looked different offensively. South Carolina held Vanderbilt to under 100 yards in the 1st half and throughout most of the 3rd quarter.

South Carolina’s offense has been inconsistent this season averaging 382.7 yards per game, but looked much improved against the Commodore defense. The Gamecocks finished with over 450 yards of offense before the final whistle sounded.

Vanderbilt turned over the football multiple times during the game as the South Carolina defense looked solid. The Commodores were held to 6 points on offense as well.

The Gamecocks really needed this game after losing 4 SEC games in a row.

Ahmarean Brown scores first TD as a Gamecock

It took a couple of seasons, but Ahmarean Brown finally scored a touchdown for South Carolina.

The Georgia Tech transfer came to Columbia in 2021 and has been used as a runner and receiver on offense. He had a filthy move on a Vanderbilt defender as he scored his first touchdown in style.

Shane Beamer should start using Brown in the offense even more going forward because of plays like this. Brown could have a future in this offense as a real playmaker.

Shane Beamer’s special teams unit pulled off a blocked punt in the 2nd half.

Keenan Nelson Jr. scooped up the ball off the turf and took it into the endzone.

The former special teams coach had to be proud of how his team found a way to score outside of just on offense.
