Will Muschamp could only chuckle when asked about one of his defensive backs being coached by Snoop Dog.

“I’m sure Snoop helped him out a bunch,” Muschamp said Tuesday during his weekly press conference.

Defensive back Keisean Nixon is the player in question, and before coming to South Carolina, Nixon grew up in Compton, Calif, and previously played at Arizona Western. He played for the Snoop Youth Football League starting at an early age. His father is close with the Long Beach product, who became a fixture around the mid-2000s Southern Cal teams and actually played some wide receiver in his time, The State reported after Nixon discussed his youth football days this week.

“He’s a real coach, he’s going to coach you hard, too,” Nixon said after he first said Snoop Dog taught him plenty of life lessons. “He’ll cuss at you every day.”

Nixon played for the Compton Vikings and then for Snoop Dog’s all-star team.

Nixon was then asked, who’s worse, current coach Will Muschamp, or Snoop?

“Muschamp,” Nixon said without hesitation.
