Will Muschamp and South Carolina have put together a strong 2018 recruiting class.

On Wednesday, things got better.

Four-star DT Rick Sandidge committed to the Gamecocks over North Carolina, among others, at a high school ceremony. South Carolina sent its whole defensive staff to the 6-foot-5, 288-pound lineman’s before signing day, sending a clear message to him and his family.

With South Carolina receiving Sandidge’s NLI, he joins Dylan Wonnum as the Gamecocks’ second signee of the day.

“Getting to play early and having that good connection with the coaches and the players,” he said during his ceremony. “It was hard decision because all three schools provided that. I was going with a gut feeling.”

Sandidge is ranked as the nation’s No. 14 overall DT and the state’s No. 6 overall player, according to 247Sports. With Sandidge’s commitment, Muschamp has either signed or committed nine 4-star prospects.

Safe to say he’s rebuilding the roster with some talent in Columbia.
