The Gamecocks are in the running for one of the nation’s top uncommitted passers as four-star prospect Braden Davis has just updated his recruitment.

Rated as the top overall prospect from Delaware in the 2022 recruiting cycle, Davis could be the next in a developing pipeline of prospects from the state to sign on to play for the South Carolina program (running back MarShawn Lloyd and linebacker Debo Williams are currently the others).

That’s because Davis just announced South Carolina has made his updated top seven, along with Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, NC State, Stanford and West Virginia.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Davis is rated as the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the nation and a top 200 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is currently the second-highest rated uncommitted dual-threat QB in the country.

It’s also worth noting that Braden’s father is Antone Davis, former Tennessee Volunteer and NFL veteran on the offensive lineman. Antone Davis was a top 10 overall selection in the 1991 NFL Draft.
