The offseason game of musical chairs on the South Carolina coaching staff continues as it appears Will Muschamp may finally have his latest Gamecocks coaching staff settled heading into spring football.

Once Mike Bobo was hired to run South Carolina’s offense next season, which resulted in the demotion of Bryan McClendon, most assumed the clock had begun to tick down on the former Gamecock offensive coordinator’s time in Columbia. Seeing running backs coach Thomas Brown leave for the Los Angeles Rams only furthered that speculation, as McClendon and Brown are close. That news was followed by reports that McClendon was leaving for the NFL.

Despite all the speculation, Chris Clark and Wes Mitchell of Gamecock Central are reporting that McClendon plans to remain on staff in Columbia and will coach receivers for Muschamp next season.

In addition to that news, Gamecock Central is reporting that former South Carolina defender Rod Wilson will be hired as a linebacker coach in Columbia. Wilson has served the last three seasons on the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff. In addition to his experience in the NFL, Wilson has experience coaching in college with the Charleston Southern program.

If these moves are made official, here’s a look at how Muschamp’s staff breaks down next season.
