Cam Smith has revealed his plans for the 2023 football season.
The star defensive back took to Twitter to announce his decision to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. Smith posted a lengthy message to South Carolina fans, featuring a picture of himself holding the Palmetto Bowl trophy.
Smith proceeded to thank his coaches and all football staff, his parents, and God before announcing his decision to enter the draft.
I hope to continue to make Gamecock Nation proud throughout my career. I will forever miss running out of the tunnel on Saturdays with my brothers in front of 80,000 fans. I do know though it is time for me to move on to the next chapter in my life.
After much prayer and consideration and speaking with my family, I will be entering the 2023 NFL Draft. I am eager to pursue my dreams of playing in the NFL, but I will always be a Gamecock.

Smith is projected to be a 1st-round pick. Smith ended the 2022 regular season with 27 tackles, 1 INT, and 5 passes defended.
