Clemson won’t have Beaux Collins available for Saturday’s crucial matchup with South Carolina.

Dabo Swinney shared the news during a Wednesday media opportunity. Collins typically starts at outside receiver. He’ll be missing the game due to a torn plantar fascia he suffered against North Carolina.

Playing without Collins in the game could be a tough blow. Collins was Clemson’s leading receiver before the injury. He had played in every game this season with 510 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns.

One of Collins’ better performances this year came during the Charleston Southern game. He had a season high 137 yards receiving.

Collins didn’t record any stats from the previous game, but had 65 yards receiving against Georgia Tech.

Another starting wideout’s status is still to be determined. Slot receiver Antonio Williams has been practicing this week and is “getting better every day” according to Swinney.

Left guard Marcus Tate will also be out for the game.

It all comes down to Week 13 to determine if South Carolina will be playing in a bowl game this season. The Gamecocks are on a 2-game winning streak, looking to get a 6th win with a Palmetto Bowl victory.

Shane Beamer had quite the run in the final 2 games of last season. His team beat Tennessee and Clemson in consecutive weeks to finish the regular season at 8-4.

Since taking the head coaching job at South Carolina, Beamer has made a bowl game each year. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
