Corey Rucker is reportedly leaving South Carolina and returning to Arkansas State, per On3.

In December, Rucker announced he was leaving South Carolina after 1 season with the program. For most of the 2022 season, Rucker was dealing with a foot injury and he had foot surgery in November. Rucker appeared in 2 games this season against Charlotte and South Carolina State.

Following 2 seasons at Arkansas State, Rucker transferred to South Carolina and was looking for an opportunity to play in the SEC. Unfortunately for Rucker, he was unable to make an impact over an extended period of time at South Carolina.

Rucker will return to the school he left for South Carolina. In 2 seasons at Arkansas State, Rucker was an impactful player in the Red Wolves’ offense. Across the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Rucker played in 20 games and he made 12 starts in 2021. In 2020, Rucker had 16 receptions, 453 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns. He progressed in 2021 with 59 catches, 826 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns in 12 games.

In his return to Arkansas State, Rucker will hope to get back to his old form as a playmaker in the passing game for the Red Wolves. With another season at Arkansas State waiting for him, Rucker has an opportunity to recover from his injury.
