Devonni Reed, who transferred from Central Michigan to South Carolina after he was a four-year starter for the Chippewas, has made a decision about the 2023 season.

Reed came in with a veteran presence after he appeared in 43 games, including 41 starts over the previous 4 seasons where he collected 287 tackles and 3 interceptions from his safety position. At South Carolina this past season, he made 39 tackles after he appeared in 11 games. He started 7 games at safety, and also made one pass deflection for South Carolina.

Reed announced on Instagram that he will enter the 2023 NFL Draft. It is not yet known if he will play in the Gator Bowl against Notre Dame on Dec. 30.

“After much consideration and prayer I am formally announcing that I will be declaring for the 2023 NFL draft,” Reed wrote on an Instagram post.

“Blessed is an understatement,” he wrote.
