The coaching carousel got started early this year, with Southern Miss and coach Jay Hopson parting ways after only 1 game.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s worth wondering if the coaching carousel will move a bit slower toward the end of the year as athletic departments try to avoid paying big buyouts.

Still, there are some coaches who are on hotter seats than others when it comes to the SEC. In fact, a few names are considered as in danger of losing their jobs.

But, in ESPN’s predictions for the SEC season, they named South Carolina’s Will Muschamp as the coach on the hottest seat in the conference.

With a brutal 10-game, SEC-only season this fall, it’ll be interesting to see how the Gamecocks fare. Muschamp is 26-25 in 4 years in Columbia. He went 4-8 next year. Another subpar season will force difficult decisions to be made.
