ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of every college football game ahead of every weekend. After a wild Week 13, the model has now updated its predictions for Week 14.

Week 14, otherwise known as Rivalry Week, is often unpredictable. One of the heated rivalry matchups taking place is South Carolina-Clemson. The model sees this as a tight game, with the Tigers getting a 56.7% chance to win while the Gamecocks have a 43.3% chance.

Entering Week 14, the Gamecocks have an 8-3 record while the Tigers are 9-2. In Week 13, both of these teams easily got by FCS opponents with Clemson taking down The Citadel and South Carolina handling Wofford.

The Gamecocks have been one of the most surprising teams in college football. The team has picked up quality wins over Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Missouri. Now, the team has an outside chance to make the College Football Playoff if they handle business against Clemson.

Clemson is still alive in the CFP race as well, so this game will be even more meaningful than usual. According to FPI, the Gamecocks have a 23.1% chance of making the Playoff while the Tigers have a 23.8% chance.

In 2024, the Tigers have been buoyed by an offense that ranks as the No. 6 total offense in the nation. The Gamecocks, meanwhile, have the No. 13 total defense.

These in-state rivals have faced off every year since 1909. The Tigers have picked up 73 wins while the Gamecocks have 43. The last time these teams faced off, the Tigers won 16-7.

This game will kick off from Memorial Stadium on Saturday at Noon ET.
