The South Carolina Gamecocks won one of the craziest games of the year on Saturday, taking down the Missouri Tigers 37-35 at home.

After a torrential downpour, sloppy play by both teams and two lightning delays, it all came down to a 33-yard field goal attempt by South Carolina K Parker White.

As you can see below, White’s father was spotted in the stands. He could hardly watch the kick, but after it split the uprights, he was all smiles:

The roller coaster of emotions White’s dad experienced will be familiar to any parent of an athlete.

Fortunately for him, his son made the kick, meaning it was time to celebrate.
