Former South Carolina signee Jaquaze Sorrells has found a new home.

The class of 2019 4-star defensive tackle recruit signed with South Carolina on Feb. 6, but failed to academically qualify for this season. On Friday, he announced that he will be continuing his college football career at TCU. Sorrells thanked the Gamecocks in his announcement tweet.

“I want to say thank you to the whole coaching staff at USC for an unbelievable two years of recruiting and being a part of the family all at one,” Sorrells wrote in the note attached to his tweet. “But with my not being able to attend school until January, I have sat back and analyzed a lot of things that re best for my future and what it is that I want to pursue. This is harder than going through the recruiting process for the first time around only because I made Columbia my home at heart.”

A native of Orlando, Florida, Sorrells was listed as over 6-2, 310 pounds. The Winter Park product was rated the No. 14 defensive tackle, No. 21 Florida recruit and No. 157 prospect overall nationally for the 2019 class on the 247Sports Composite. He had 23 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Clemson, Florida and Tennessee.
